Yes, I play Pokemon Go. No I wasn’t jumping on the bandwagon. Seriously though, it’s all everyone is talking about. I went out to a park, and LITERALLY EVERYONE HAD THEIR HEADS DOWN, swiping up…Hmm… Wonder what they’re doing 😛
THANK YOU Holly @ Nut Free Nerd for tagging me to do this! (I didn’t even know this tag existed!)
I think like, the first books to ever get me addicted to books were the Rainbow Magic series by Daisy Meadows! I remember going to the library at 7/8 and checking out 13 (That was the limit) of these at once! Librarians quickly remembered me, and to this day they still do! (I tried checking out one again a few months ago, and they looked at me in disbelief XD)
Not sure if you’d count this as a classic (I DO!) but it is certainly regarded as a classic fantasy! It’s Howl’s Moving Castle by Diane Wynne-Jones! It made me laugh so hard! I just love little Calcifer! I first discovered this book after watching the film, and I can’t help but imagine them as anime characters now. XD
This one had to be Divergent by Veronica Roth. Don’t kill me. I loved the books after I read them, but after a while, it just didn’t stick with me. I think I enjoyed it while I read them, but afterwards, it was a bit like, “Meh. Ride over.” And then when things blew up, I just couldn’t deal with it… SORRY! *hides behind a chair*
This book doesn’t seem to get enough attention. Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick was a really enjoyable read for me! I think I was in Year 8 when I stole the book off a friend and read it XD I ended up finishing the series really quickly and before her because I really liked it then. There’s a lot of hate for this series, but people forget it’s just some entertainment :/ Some enjoy it, some don’t.
I really really really REALLY want to start The Stormlight Archives series by Brandon Sanderson because I enjoyed all of the other Brandon Sanderson novels I’ve read and I’ve heard SO much good things about them… But the sheer size of them… *hides behind the same chair* (When did I come out?)
(Give me a minute…I LOVE GENGAAAAAAAR. YOU ARE AN AMAZING AND DAMN POWERFUL THING. Ahem) This book kept me up till 4:30am reading… I was screaming and pleading and just couldn’t go to sleep until I found out what happened. Yes Me Before You by Jojo Moyes kept me up, and even after I finished it, I went to bed still thinking about it.
Ok I will try to contain myself this time. JULIAN AND EMMA ARE LITERALLY EVERYTHING AND THEY DESERVE TO BE TOGETHER AFTER ALL THIS TIME. Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare WAS SUCH A TRAGIC BOOK. NOTHING BEATS IT. I SHIP THEM SO SO HARD.
Skulduggery Pleasant series by Derek Landy. I love this series and WILL ALWAYS love this series. Valkyrie and Skulduggery are the best partners ever, and I will always come back to this series :’) But seriously though, things move quickly and I was immediately sucked into their world. I think the last book was too quick a read (despite it being massive) but that’s probably because I had been waiting for it for AGES and was way too immersed in it. But hey, it’s THE LAST BOOK.
OMG I literally just realised I repeated an author… I saved all photos of books before I started writing… AND I DIDN’T REALISE. I tried so hard not to repeat an author as well… URGH… Anyways the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson was epic and I will scream about to every fantasy reader’s face until they read it. He has mentioned that he hopes to write more Mistborn books set in different times AND I CANNOT WAIT. He’s already released another trilogy set in the same world, but apparently it’s not part of his “different periods” thing. SO IT MEANS MOREEEEEE. I. Cannot. Wait. It’d be sooooo interesting to see how people would utilise those powers alongside technology.
(I seriously love how genius this whole tag is.) I didn’t buy Broken Sky by L. A. Weatherly and neither had I checked reviews. I simply won it on Twitter, and since I had heard NOTHING about it, I wasn’t expecting much. MISTAKE. I wasn’t prepared for blow after blow and this book seriously left me reeling.
The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater has soooo much hype around it. I can’t say it’s overhyped since I haven’t read it but I can definitely say that this is a hyped up series I can’t wait to start! (Did I mention I love ravens?)
Easily the Penguin Hardcover Classics Collection. They are soooo pretty and I want them all *^* I don’t normally choose hardbacks (especially clothbound ones) because they’re normally so expensive, and heavy. (They’re also hard to hold too.) But if I had the money, I would definitely buy all of these. THEY’RE GORGEOUS.
I cannot wait for Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalo! As a young child, I became obsessed with Jack the Ripper the day I found out about him. I read every book I could find about him and took to memorising the names of his victims, the locations they were found dead etc. Still to this day, I get excited at the mention of his name and THIS WAS WRITTEN FOR ME.
SARAH J. MAAAAAAAAAS. I went out and bought all the Throne of Glass books (except Queen of Shadows because I already had that and The Assassin’s blade because I didn’t know it existed) after reading the first one. After I finished them, I immediately bought a Court of Thorns and Roses. I never checked any of the ratings or reviews (I never do that) for any of them XD I think it’s fair to say that I will be buying all her future books :3
I’ve been addicted to Leigh Bardugo’s books since Day 1 when I picked up Shadow and Bone as a debut. As a result, it’s meant that I’ve had to wait AN ENTIRE for her next book every year. This time, I’ve been waiting for Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo and according to her, IT’S GONNA BE THE LAST GRISHA BOOK FOR A WHILE. *cries ugly tears while typing*
Not gonna tag anyone because I hate doing that. So feel free to do this tag instead of waiting around and say I tagged you 😀
Do you pkay Pokemon Go? And what would your answers be? Seriously interested because well, you can see…I LOVE BOOKS AND I LOVE POKEMON. (OMG I JUST THOUGHT OF SOMETHING, THERE NEEDS TO BE A CAKE AND BOOKS TAG.)
