April 2016

Let’s look at the books I got this month!!

I actually never bought any books this month! So happy that I still got books to read without having to make my bank account cry. That’s probably one of the best things of being a book blogger. YAYYYY!

  • The Shadow Queen by C. J. Redwine
  • Broken Sky by L. A. Weatherly
  • You Know Me Well ARC by Nina LaCour and David Levithan
  • Demon Road: Desolation by Derek Landy
  • The Square Root of Summer by Harriet Reuter Hapgood

I might as well do a bit of a wrap-up too.

This month, I met Derek Landy, Darren Shan and Cassandra Clare at 2 book signings! They were both in Birmingham and I had to travel a loooooong way to get there. I got quite a few books signed this month!

The event in Birmingham with Cassandra Clare was craaaaaazy! The queues were looping up and down the floors and there were still people outside! When I left, I spoke to one of the booksellers at the door and they counted about 1000 people!!!! ONE THOUSAND!!! The event was due to start until 5pm and so I planned to arrive at 4:30pm. I passed the store, hoping to check a few other places out before the event started, but I saw to my amazement, a load of people already queueing. O.O

I was well freaked out at the time and almost turned around and left. Good thing I saw my friend there who happened to go to the event too! Pheeeewwwww!

The actual meeting and signing wasn’t cool though. :/

The employees weren’t very nice – both at the table and during the queueing process. There were way too many people and so I didn’t get a chance to properly talk to Cassandra Clare herself. I did get to ask a question but the employees were distracting me by pushing me along, and trying to talk to me at the same time. Needless to say, I never really got the answer despite Cassandra Clare answering. *Sighs*

That’s my April of 2016! It passed quickly didn’t it?!

Now your turn! Tell me about your April! What did you read?

  1. I’m so jealous of your haul! All of those books look so beautiful. Free books really are a perk of book blogging! I’m so sorry the Cassandra Clare signing didn’t live up to your expectations. I haven’t been to a signing before, but I’m reluctant to because I’m worried it might be like what you found it to be. Usually I find the staff at Waterstones to be really nice, but it’s sad that they weren’t to you! 🙁

    1. I love Derek Landy’s books! He’s hilarious in writing AND in person! He signed 10 of his Desolation wristbands for him, with one letter of his name on each band. My brother was delighted! XD And I can’t wait to read Broken Sky properly! I’m only on chapter 6 I think but it’s really interesting! O.O Will definitely post a review!!!
