*finishes Black Moon*

*lies down*

*gets up and goes to laptop*

*tries to write a review unsuccessfully for 2 weeks*

WHICH IS WHY I’M JUST GOING TO TELL YOU TO READ THESE BOOKS.

Who knows, maybe one day I’ll be able to collect my thoughts enough to write a coherent review for Black Moon.

Anyways…

*Sorry, I’ve sort of…been dying to use this gif for ages…

Welcome to a ‘perfect’ world.

Where war is illegal, where harmony rules.

And where your date of birth marks your destiny.

But nothing is perfect.

And in a world this broken, who can Amity trust?

Series: Yes, and it’s COMPLETED TRILOGY. WHOOOOOOOOO~

It’s the least cliche dystopian novel you will ever read

Fact.

I’ve literally given up on reading dystopian novels because really?* REVOLUTIONS. KIDS IN DANGER. LOVE TRIANGLES. SHY PROTAGONISTS WITHOUT FRIENDS THAT SUDDENLY BECOME SUPER COOL BADASSES. EVIL ADULTS.

I’m not saying that the series has none of these, but like, eh. If you’re going to be reading another dystopian novel, it’s this.

*I still have the entire Maze Runner series on my shelf, abandoned and unread.

NO SPECIAL SNOWFLAKES IN SIGHT

*gasps* MINDBLOWN.

You’re not going to find the “Chosen One” in this book. The main character doesn’t have special angel blood. The main character isn’t some shy, pretty girl that is actually super pretty but never actually realises it. You’re not going to find 10 guys + the next door neighbour vying for Amity’s love.

Amity, the main character is just another girl. Like you and me. Except she’s super strong, kind and also intelligent. She doesn’t have a sword strapped to her back 24/7 but she also never stops fighting.

Cool Concepts

Planes. Pilots. Tyrant ruling using astrology. Peacefighters. GUYS THIS SYSTEM IS SO COOL. LIKE, THEY STAB YOU AND CART YOU OFF IF YOU’RE A CAPRIES OR A SAGGITAURUS OR WHATEVER.* I’m crap at making all this sound good. But basically Amity is a peacefighter which means she’s a pilot. The way the system works is that if 2 countries have some sort of conflict, they send 2 pilots (one from each country) to fight until one of them bails (no one is meant to die) and then the winning country gets to have their own way. BUT WAIT. CORRUPTION. WHAT IF- *shuts up*

*What? I’m wrong?

Collie

Yep. Just that. You should read the book just because of him. He’s totally the normal YA male guy, but then he also isn’t?? I loved him in the books, and he will always have a special place in my heart. *^* He had such a story to tell, and he just had so much depth to his character??? He was so conflicted, and I felt so sorry for him and URGH SPOILERS.*

*Spoiler: He has pretty eyes.

PLOTPLOTPLOT

The books literally pull you in from page 1. All 3 of them sucked me in, and I couldn’t stop reading until I had finished it. And then once I finished, the book spat me out again and left me to deal with things AND HELP. I loved seeing all the different aspects of what was happening, as well as seeing Amity come to terms and deal with her own problems as a young adult.

At many points of the book, you will probably freak and scream and read so fast your eyes starts to burn. BUT OMG.

The plots were all crafted so well, and everything fits so nicely together, but then it also rips you up. It hooks you in sooooooo bad.

Oh. And people die. That’s the best bit.

SO GUYS. I HAVE LITERALLY SPENT 1 YEAR TELLING YOU ALL TO READ THIS. HAVE YOU? AND WILL YOU? (Please say yes or my dainty feelings may be hurt.)

Also check out the interview I did with the author of the series, L. A. Weatherly where I ask really imprtant questions like making portals from your room.

(KIDDING. I AM HEARTLESS.*)

*I type as I sniffle over emotional soundtrack music.
